The Phase 4 deadline of the Make Something Unreal Competition has just past, and with that a released of Jailbreak for UT3 has been made availible. We’ve released an open beta with 11 vastly different maps.
My part in the mod involved creating JB-Rebirth, the switch + lock meshes, the automatic turret and the floor and spikes used in H34dcrash’s JB-Pagoda map in addition to various quality control and general stuff!
A few teaser screeshots:

The mod can be downloaded here from Beyond Unreal

I recently did a bit of work towards a project being worked on at FXHome.com involving taking a cgi scene, making some changes as requested by the director before it was passed on to the next artist for particle effects and composition into a film.

I worked in various details on the buildings, namely the bases of the buildings and the docking device for the escape pods on the sides. I also Textured and Lit the scene within 3dsmax.
Work on my Jailbreak map is coming on nicely. The map is great fun to play at the moment despite loads of things still on my to do list. Been working on the arena the last 2 days, playing with some fun scripting to change how it gets used. Either way its hectic!

Further update on the vehicle I have been working on. Progress is a bit slow with working on other projects along with real life commitments.

I’ve also been working on a few things for the UT3 mod Jailbreak. We’re still aiming for a release in time for the MSUC so everything is a bit hectic at the moment. I’ve been working on the mesh to be used for the release switch although I have only done a base texture layer for it so far (the yellow is a placeholder for team shader effects), and another map with a more interesting layout than the one I was working on./

Started blocking out another vehicle whilst bored. I’ve got ideas for its features, just not decided what to make the rear gun look like and what sort of detailing over the body yet.

I’m currently working on a few bits and pieces including maps for the UT3 mod Jailbreak, Model creation for fun, and University work.
Thought I’d just post a few images so people can see what I am up to!
UT3 Vehicle

This is a prototype model built within 3DS Maxthat is the main focus of my University Final Year Project / Dissertation. The project involves me researching into workflows behind vehicle design ingames, in doing so a vehicle using the research will be created. The above model was a brainstorm of visual ideas and is by no means anything final. I’ve got various ideas for the vehicle itself, not all of which I’m going to reveal yet, but it will be a fully working vehicle within UT3 and the aim is to make it really fun without being inbalanced against the other vehicles.
Jailbreak

I’ve got two maps being worked on at the moment, both are the opposite ends of completion! The first, currently called Endor is made from standard UT3 content, albeit with a few materials modified for different colours within the editor. The level is a small sci-fi level that will be set in a organic enviroment full of dense foliage and flowing water (not done a lot of the foliage yet!) - The map features an open Arena within the centre of the map with a huge amount of scriping for visual effects. The main geometry of the map is complete, however I need to work in bug fixes, optimisation, more visuals and wait on some updated code for the mod!

The second of 2 maps. This is based on a layout created from bsp within UED. Playtested, and then exported once I had a layout I was happy with. Using the layout basis the meshes have all been created within 3DS Max unique to this level. The screenshot is a very early test import of the meshes into the game. The meshes are not correctly unwrapped here and the textures are just standard UT3 rock textures thrown on. Long way to go with this one yet!

After owning the domain for a long time, and having webspace here for just as long I’m now starting to use it! It is about time I got it sorted! Expect things to keep being added to the site over the next few weeks.
In the meantime check out some of my portfolio work to the right.
